Volleyball Recap: Carey Comes Up Short

Carey suffered their biggest defeat since September 18th on Saturday. They came up short against the Monroeville Eagles, falling 3-0. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Carey was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-16, 25-16.

Addison Homan was nothing short of spectacular for Monroeville: she had 21 digs and eight assists. Homan has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more digs the last 25 times she's played.

Carey's loss dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Monroeville, the victory was the 18th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-2.

Looking ahead, Carey will face off against Woodmore at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Monroeville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
