Softball Recap: Valley View Spartans vs. Brookville Blue Devils

Valley View won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. Their rough 16-2 defeat to the Brookville Blue Devils might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Valley View of the 14-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Valley View saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Riley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

On Brookville's side, Grace Burton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Burton was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
