Softball Recap: Nine Straight Road Wins for Springport

Springport is still undefeated this season after their contest against Napoleon on Saturday, but Napoleon came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Spartans sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Pirates. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by exactly two runs.

Springport pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average this season. As for Napoleon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Coming up, Springport will welcome Union City at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Napoleon, they have already played their next game, a 12-0 defeat against Ida on the 26th.
