Baseball Recap: Millis Takes a Loss

Millis extended their losing streak to eight on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 2-9 in the process. They lost 6-0 to the Ashland Clockers. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Mohawks were not able to get on the board.

As for Ashland, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7. The win continues a trend for them in their matchups with Millis: they've now won eight in a row.

For Ashland's part, Jared Grunbaum made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Grunbaum has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chris Bratica, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Michael Schreiber was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
