Basketball Game Preview: Eastside Catholic Crusaders vs. Roosevelt Roughriders

The Eastside Catholic Crusaders are taking a road trip to challenge the Roosevelt Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Wednesday, everything went Eastside Catholic's way against West Seattle as Eastside Catholic made off with a 67-41 win.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt hadn't done well against Garfield recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Roosevelt slipped by Garfield 67-66.

Roosevelt's win came from a few key players Eastside Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emma Curtis, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 boards gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Giselle Dollar, who went 7 of 15 en route to 23 points and eight assists.

Roosevelt smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Roosevelt has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for Eastside Catholic, their record now sits at 9-7.

Eastside Catholic came up short against Roosevelt when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 54-44. Can Eastside Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
