Softball Recap: Nemaha Central Comes Up Short

Nemaha Central extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 5-4 in the process. They came up short against the Marysville Bulldogs, falling 7-1. The game marked the Thunder's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

As for Marysville, they pushed their record up to 10-9 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games.

For Marysville's part, Lindsey Dressman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. Dressman has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Trinity Hager was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Brynlee Wolfe, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

While Nemaha Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
