Volleyball Recap: South Pointe Comes Up Short at Home Against Northwestern

South Pointe unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northwestern Trojans on Tuesday. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-7, 22-25, 25-8.

Northwestern's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Pointe is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Camden at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give the Stallions their first taste of in-conference action this season. After both having extra time off, Northwestern and Nation Ford will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. This will also be the Trojans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
