Softball Recap: Broadwater Academy Has No Trouble Against Chincoteague

Broadwater Academy put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They blew past the Chincoteague Ponies 10-0. Considering the Vikings have won seven matches by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Ramsey Revelle was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Miranda Smith was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kacey Ford, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Broadwater Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .552. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in five consecutive contests.

Broadwater Academy's record now sits at 8-1. As for Chincoteague, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broadwater Academy will host Isle of Wight Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Chincoteague, they will square off against Snow Hill at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
