Softball Recap: Queen Creek Takes a Loss

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Queen Creek was a bit more limited in their game on Monday. They fell just short of the Pinnacle Pioneers by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pioneers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Aubrey Chavez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Queen Creek saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tayla Falquez, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Madison Peterson also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Queen Creek's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Pinnacle, they now have a winning record of 3-2-1.

Looking ahead, Queen Creek is taking a road trip to face off against Kofa at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Queen Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season. As for Pinnacle, they will host Red Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
