Softball Recap: North Reading Comes Up Short

North Reading was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Amesbury Redhawks. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

North Reading's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Amesbury, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.

North Reading will be playing in front of their home fans against Hamilton-Wenham Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Amesbury, they have already played their next game, a 12-4 loss against Georgetown on the 17th.
