Basketball Recap: Tyler's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

Tyler lost against Doddridge County back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The contest between the Tyler Knights and the Doddridge County Bulldogs didn't end well, with the Tyler Knights falling 64-50. The Knights' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Tyler still got an impressive performance from Katie Grimm, who posted 24 points. The matchup was Grimm's third in a row with at least ten points. Jules Lattea was another key player, putting up ten points and eight boards.

It was another big night for Payton Trent, who went 11 of 19 on her way to 27 points and five assists for Doddridge County. Trent has been hot, having posted 16 or more points the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleigh Cheeseman, who put up 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and six blocks.

Tyler's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Doddridge County, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Tyler won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ravenswood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Doddridge County, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Ritchie County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Doddridge County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season.
