Baseball Recap: Biloxi Victorious

Biloxi won the last time they faced Warren Central and things went their way on Thursday too. The Biloxi Indians walked away with a 4-1 win over the Warren Central Vikings. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Brody Nguyen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Connor Lofton, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. He has become a key player for Biloxi: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-5 otherwise. Tristain Haynes was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Biloxi now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Warren Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Biloxi will be playing at home against Ocean Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ocean Springs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Biloxi's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Warren Central, they have already played their next game, a 4-1 victory against Mobile Christian on the 14th.
