Softball Game Preview: Centennial Cougars vs. Independence Eagles

The Centennial Cougars will take on the Independence Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Independence took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Centennial, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, Centennial turned things around against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Royals a 6-0 shutout. The Cougars not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 3rd.

Meanwhile, Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 7-3 to Page.

Logan Riebe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kerrigan Riebe, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Independence now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Centennial, their victory bumped their record up to 3-10.
