Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hernando). They blew past the Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Hurricanes 21-2 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Leopards, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Kaitlyn Carter made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Hernando got a massive performance out of Ammarae Easton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Ariana Covell, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Hernando always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop McLaughlin Catholic only posted an OBP of .250.

Hernando now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, their loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Coming up, Hernando will take on Academy at the Lakes at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bishop McLaughlin Catholic, they will challenge Wildwood at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic is facing Wildwood at the right time seeing as Wildwood is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
