Volleyball Recap: Basic Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Basic managed to slip by Green Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wolves lost 3-0 to the Gators on Wednesday. The Wolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Gators earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

While Basic was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Green Valley's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-21, 27-25.

Rylynn Borruto paced Basic's offense, picking up eight kills. Borruto got some help from Brinley Danczak and her 11 assists. Danczak also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Semya Patterson, racking up three apiece.

Clara Conrado was nothing short of spectacular for Green Valley: she had eight digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Conrado a new career-high in assists (39).

Basic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Green Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Basic has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Legacy on the 18th. After both having extra time off, Green Valley and Durango will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th.
