Basketball Recap: Hornell Beats York for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Hornell won the last time they faced York and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hornell Red Raiders managed a 68-63 victory over the York Golden Knights. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Golden Knights are ranked 475th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win (which was Hornell's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points over those games. As for York, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Coming up, Hornell will venture away from home to face off against Haverling at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hornell's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for York, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Warsaw at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Warsaw has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
