Soccer Recap: Marlington Takes a Loss

Marlington's game on Wednesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Salem Quakers by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Marlington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio soccer rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while Salem are ranked 170th).

This is the second loss in a row for Marlington and nudges their season record down to 3-7-2. As for Salem, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-3 record this season.

Marlington didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Southeast on the 29th. As for Salem, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-0 win against Crestview on the 29th.
