Basketball Recap: Goessel Comes Up Short

Goessel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 56-24 loss at the hands of the Little River Redskins. While losing is never fun, the Bluebirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Redskins are ranked 166th).

Little River's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaren Garrison led the charge by going 6 for 10 en route to 16 points and four steals. Those four steals gave Garrison a new career-high. Lincoln Raleigh was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Goessel's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Little River, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Goessel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 66-46 loss against Canton-Galva on the 17th. As for Little River, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 53-32 victory against Rural Vista [Hope/White City] on the 17th.
