Baseball Recap: Sparta Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Sparta entered their tilt with Vernon on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Vikings two weeks ago, they had to take a 6-5 defeat.

Sparta pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Vernon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
