Basketball Recap: Holston Takes a Loss

Holston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Rural Retreat Indians and fell 43-9. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Indians are ranked 157th).

Holston's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Rural Retreat, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

Holston is taking a road trip to square off against Patrick Henry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rural Retreat, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Honaker at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Honaker will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Rural Retreat surely won't give up without a fight.
