Softball Recap: Western Alamance Finds Home Field Redemption Against Person

There's no place like home for Western Alamance, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They blew past the Person Rockets 7-0 on Friday. The Warriors have beaten the Rockets the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Rockets has come to flipping the script.

Not much got past Addison Beal, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Person off the board. Beal has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bayleigh Burris was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Skylar Martin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Western Alamance was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win got Western Alamance back to even at 6-6. As for Person, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Alamance will square off against Southern Alamance at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Person, they will take on Eastern Alamance at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Person's pitchers better be ready for this one: Eastern Alamance has averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
