Basketball Game Preview: Rock Falls Rockets vs. Rochelle Hubs

Having just played yesterday, the Rock Falls Rockets will head out on the road to face off against the Rochelle Hubs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Rock Falls' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.

Rock Falls will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Lutheran, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Rock Falls snuck past Lutheran with a 73-67 win on Tuesday. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Rockets were down 61-46 in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, Rochelle didn't have quite enough to beat Morris on Saturday and fell 63-61. The Hubs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rock Falls pushed their record up to 18-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.7 points over those games. As for Rochelle, their loss dropped their record down to 8-18.

Rock Falls took their victory against Rochelle in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 100-78. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rock Falls since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
