It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Union had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Wheeler. West Union might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.
Jon Grey Morrisson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has become a key player for West Union: the team is undefeated when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 9-13 otherwise. Morrisson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, West Union got a big performance out of Benton Burks, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
