Recap: Chillicothe Hornets vs. Benton Cardinals
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Odessa, The Chillicothe Hornets were happy to have found some success on Friday. They didn't even let Benton onto the board and left with a 22-0 win. That's another feather in the cap for Chillicothe, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Chillicothe can attribute much of their success to Javon Kille, who rushed for 123 yards, and also picked up 69 receiving yards. Sol'jier Allen got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Chillicothe's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Benton, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Chillicothe will look to defend their home field on Friday against Richmond at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Richmond is ranked 174th, while Chillicothe is ranked 164th). As for Benton, they will head out on the road to face off against Kearney at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Kearney's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Benton has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
