Volleyball Recap: Rubie Mares Key Part of Team Effort in Bears Win

Brennan won the last time they faced Azle and things went their way on Friday too. The Bears came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 2-0.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brennan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rubie Mares, who had five digs and two aces. That's the most aces Mares has posted over her last six games. Another player making a difference was Mia Nunez, who had nine digs and two assists.

Brennan is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Azle, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brennan will take on Harlan at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Azle, they will host Midlothian Heritage at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
