Baseball Recap: Orangefield Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Orangefield won the last time they faced Warren and things went their way on Friday too. The Orangefield Bobcats blew past the Warren Warriors 12-3. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by seven runs or more this season.

Matthew Johnson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cole Sanches, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Carson Worthy was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double.

Orangefield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Warren and nudges their season record down to 8-7.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Orangefield Bobcats challenge Anahuac Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Anahuac will need to watch out since Orangefield has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Warren, they will host Buna at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
