Volleyball Game Preview: Providence Catholic Celtics vs. Downers Grove South Mustangs + Official Tickets

The Providence Catholic Celtics will venture away from home to face off against the Downers Grove South Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Providence Catholic has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Providence Catholic's tournament run continued when they took on LaSalle-Peru on Saturday. The Celtics won by a set and slipped past the Cavaliers 2-1.

Meanwhile, Downers Grove South faced Lincoln-Way East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs fell 2-0 to the Griffins. That makes it the first time this season the Mustangs have let down their home crowd.

Downers Grove South was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-22.

Downers Grove South's loss dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Providence Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-4 record this season.
