Basketball Game Preview: Pittsburg Panthers vs. Groveton Eagles

Pittsburg hasn't had much luck against Groveton recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Pittsburg Panthers will challenge the Groveton Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Both have allowed few points on average, (Pittsburg: 29.2, Groveton: 30) so any points scored will be well earned.

Pittsburg will head into Friday's match on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lin-Wood on Friday. Pittsburg took their contest with ease, bagging a 61-34 win over Lin-Wood. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Groveton faced Littleton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Groveton received a blow as they fell 52-36 to Littleton. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Having lost for the first time this season, Groveton fell to 6-1. As for Pittsburg, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-2.

Pittsburg came up short against Groveton in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 50-39. Can Pittsburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
