Soccer Recap: Saint Viator Comes Up Short

There was early excitement for Saint Viator after they claimed the first goal on Monday, however, they wouldn't score again. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Carmel Corsairs who were credited with the victory. The Carmel Corsairs got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Saint Viator Lions' two. Saint Viator were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carmel apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Saint Viator's loss dropped their record down to 8-10-1. As for Carmel, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saint Viator will face off against Lakes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakes will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Saint Viator surely won't give up without a fight. As for Carmel, they will take on Palatine at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
