Baseball Recap: Oviedo Comes Up Short

Oviedo managed to slip by Viera the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Oviedo lost 15-5 to Viera on Friday. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Juan Velez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

Oviedo has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Viera and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oviedo will venture away from home to square off against Lake Mary at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Viera, they will head out to take on Bayside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
