Football Recap: Eastside Comes Up Short

Eastside and Indian Land squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Eastside had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 34-7 loss at the hands of the Indian Land Warriors. The Eagles' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Peyton Schrader threw for 67 yards on nine of 25 attempts. James Odom Iv was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards. On the ground, Maldravious Brown rushed for 52 yards on only five carries.

Jamol Horton was his usual excellent self, rushing for 125 yards and two touchdowns for Indian Land. Matt Kucia was another key player, throwing for 230 yards and two touchdowns on only 19 passes.

Eastside's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Indian Land, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Eastside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Indian Land, they will venture away from home to face off against Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northwestern knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Indian Land likes a good challenge.
