Preview: Brentwood Academy Eagles vs. Cookeville Cavaliers
The Brentwood Academy Eagles's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cookeville Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th. Brentwood Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Cookeville is ranked fifth).
Last Wednesday, Brentwood Academy might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Columbia Central an easy 52-31 win.
Meanwhile, the stars were shining brightly for Cookeville in a 54-36 win over Stone Memorial on Monday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cookeville.
Cookeville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Allie Gillies led the charge by scoring 15 points. Gillies hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Cara Lee Gilbert, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Brentwood Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Cookeville, their win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
