Volleyball Recap: Durfee Comes Up Short

Durfee lost to Quincy back in April and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hilltoppers came up short against the Presidents, falling 3-0. The Hilltoppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-15, 25-14.

Frank Pichardo paced Durfee's offense, picking up 11 kills. Pichardo got some help from Mathayus Medeiros and his 14 assists. Medeiros was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Jake Bassan went supernovafor Quincy, getting 17 digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Bassan a new career-high.

Durfee's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Quincy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Durfee has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Silver Lake Regional on the 18th. As for Quincy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Scituate on the 18th.
