Riverside is 9-1 against Newport since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Riverside will head out to challenge Newport at 4:00 p.m. Neither Riverside nor Newport posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Riverside fell victim to Coeur d'Alene and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 13-0 to the Vikings. The Rams' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Newport came up short against Northwest Christian School on Tuesday, falling 11-2. The loss continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their meetings with the Crusaders: they've now lost four in a row.

Newport saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Parry, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Having lost for the first time this season, Newport fell to 2-1. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything went Riverside's way against Newport in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Riverside made off with a 13-5 victory. Does Riverside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Newport turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
