Volleyball Recap: Lucerne Valley Comes Up Short at Home Against Academy for Academic Excellence

Lucerne Valley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Academy for Academic Excellence Knights on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

While Lucerne Valley was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Academy for Academic Excellence's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-16, 25-20.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lucerne Valley will venture away from home to square off against Trona at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Academy for Academic Excellence, they will head out to challenge Norton Science & Language Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
