Mira Costa is ranked highly in their home state and on Wednesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Casteel. The Mustangs walked away with a 3-1 win over the Colts. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Mira Costa had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-21.

Audrey Flanagan paced Mira Costa's offense, picking up 31 kills. Flanagan got some help from Milly McGee and her 42 assists. Simone Roslon controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Casteel's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faith Bahun, who had nine digs and four aces. Bahun also put up an assist, which was her first of the season.

Mira Costa's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Casteel, with the loss, they broke their five-match winning streak and moved their record to 16-7.

Mira Costa has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Santa Monica on the 3rd. As for Casteel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Liberty on the 3rd.
