Basketball Preview: Brooke Point Black Hawks vs. Colonial Forge Eagles
Brooke Point is 2-8 against the Eagles since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Brooke Point Black Hawks will be playing at home against the Colonial Forge Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Brooke Point is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
While Brooke Point couldn't quite beat the Wildcats on Tuesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 71-point defeat they were dealt on Friday. Brooke Point fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 39-36. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Brooke Point has suffered since December 14, 2023.
The losing side was boosted by Antoinette Sanusi, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. She also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Rinyah Jarrett, who scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Brooke Point smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Colonial Forge's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 59-42 to Riverbend. Colonial Forge has not had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Brooke Point's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Colonial Forge, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-14.
