Softball Recap: El Dorado Cougars vs. Liberty Ranch Hawks
El Dorado had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-12-1 to make it 11. They came up short against the Liberty Ranch Hawks, falling 13-1. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
As for Liberty Ranch, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games.
For Liberty Ranch's part, they got a great performance from Laura Quinn as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave Quinn a new career-high.
