Volleyball Recap: DeLand-Weldon Comes Up Short + How To Watch

DeLand-Weldon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Edinburg Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

DeLand-Weldon started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 25-17, 25-18.

Jayden Carter paced DeLand-Weldon's offense, picking up six kills. Carter were helped by Addison Roos and Makenna Woods, who contributed seven assists each. Roos was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

DeLand-Weldon's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Edinburg, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

DeLand-Weldon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Georgetown-Ridge Farm on the 17th. As for Edinburg, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against North Greene on the 17th.
