Preview: Kathleen Red Devils vs. Lake Wales Highlanders
Kathleen is 5-0 against Lake Wales since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Kathleen Red Devils will be playing at home against the Lake Wales Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
Last Wednesday, Kathleen lost to Lake Region at home by a decisive 70-51 margin.
The losing side was boosted by Jeremy Nixon, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. He scored a full 35.3% of Kathleen's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Zion Williams was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Lake Wales had to suffer through a rough 78-50 loss at the hands of Sebring. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lake Wales in their matchups with Sebring: they've now lost seven in a row.
Kathleen's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lake Wales, they bumped their record down to 0-3 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Kathleen didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lake Wales when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 100-94 win. Will Kathleen repeat their success, or does Lake Wales have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
