Basketball Recap: River Road Comes Up Short

River Road was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Sanford-Fritch Eagles 54-25. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 51-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

River Road's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Sanford-Fritch, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

River Road will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Miami at 11:30 a.m. on December 30th. River Road is facing Miami at the right time seeing as Miami is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Sanford-Fritch, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sunray at 6:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
