The Capuchino Mustangs will challenge the King's Academy Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Capuchino is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
If Capuchino beats King's Academy with 11 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Mustangs beat Woodside on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. With that win, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Lola Sierra made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Capuchino got a massive performance out of Star Gutierrez, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Gutierrez is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Dana Motroni, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Capuchino kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, King's Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Burlingame on Tuesday.
Katia Nesper spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 16 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mia Bennette, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Woo, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Capuchino pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for King's Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Both Capuchino and King's Academy just can't seem to miss. The Mustangs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. However, it's not like King's Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits.
