            Baseball Recap: Shadle Park Highlanders vs. Ridgeline Falcons        
        
		
        
        
            It may have taken  nine innings to finish the job, but Shadle Park ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Ridgeline Falcons  4-3. Four seems to be a good number for the Highlanders as the  team scooped up a  victory with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
 Tyler Yarger was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. He  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with two  stolen bases and one  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Evan Lafferty, who  went 1-for-4 with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  double. That's the most  stolen bases  he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was  Tommy Krotzer, who  went 3-for-5 with one  double and one  RBI.
The  win made it two in a row for Shadle Park and  bumps their season record up to 7-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch. As for Ridgeline, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the  defeat, which was their third straight  at home.
 We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Shadle Park is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Central Valley  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Meanwhile, Ridgeline will  take on  rival University  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
