Softball Recap: Classical Has No Trouble Against Central Falls

Classical won the last time they faced Central Falls and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Purple were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over the Warriors. The result was nothing new for the Purple, who have now won 11 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Vivian Hoffman, who got three hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Amya Manston, who got two hits.

Classical always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of 1.786. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .800 or higher in 14 consecutive matches.

Classical is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Central Falls, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Classical will face off against Narragansett at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mariners will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Purple surely won't give up without a fight. Central Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
