Softball Recap: Payette Comes Up Short

Payette lost against Cole Valley Christian back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pirates lost 12-2 to the Chargers. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lucia Walker was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mya Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Payette's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Cole Valley Christian, their victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-4.

Payette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cole Valley Christian, they will take on Weiser at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season.
