Baseball Recap: Bellarmine Prep Wins Going Away Against Lincoln

After only one run in their last matchup, Bellarmine Prep made sure to put some runs up on the board against Lincoln on Tuesday. The Lions blew past the Abes 11-0. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lions yet this season.

Bellarmine Prep got a great performance from Joshua Morales as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Morales also allowed no hits, which is notable because the Lions are 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 3-6 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Spencer Truebenbach, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Xavier Espindola was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Bellarmine Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Bellarmine Prep's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Lincoln, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.
