Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Silverdale Academy's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Silverdale Academy won the last time they faced Collegedale Academy, and Kinsley Owen did her part to make sure it happened again. The Silverdale Academy Seahawks claimed a resounding 73-22 win over the Collegedale Academy Collegedale Eagle thanks in part to Owen, who dropped a triple-double on 34 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 steals. Owen is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Reece Hoover was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

Silverdale Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Collegedale Academy, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silverdale Academy will venture away from home to challenge Boyd-Buchanan at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th. As for Collegedale Academy, they will head out to take on St. Andrews-Sewanee at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
