Softball Recap: Pinconning Comes Up Short

The Pinconning Spartans came up short against the Alpena Wildcats on Wednesday and fell 12-7. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Pinconning saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Hunter, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was Hunter's first of the season. Elley Shoultes was another, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Pinconning's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Alpena, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinconning will welcome Clare at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Pioneers have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games. As for Alpena, they will challenge Garden City on Saturday.
