Baseball Recap: Village Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against the O'neal School

Village Christian Academy barely beat The O'Neal School the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Village Christian Academy Knights put the hurt on The O'Neal School Falcons with a sharp 13-2 win on Tuesday. The matchup marked the Knights' most dominant victory of the season so far.

The team relied heavily on Eli Guinn, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four stolen bases, and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Ben Gooch was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Guinn wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Village Christian Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The win was the third in a row for Village Christian Academy, bringing their record for this year to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for The O'Neal School, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Village Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-7 victory against Goldsboro on the 13th. As for The O'Neal School, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-5 win against Northwood Temple Academy on the 13th.
