Basketball Game Preview: Whittier Cardinals vs. Ramona Rams

Two dominant forwards in Brandon Romo and Troy Terrell are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Whittier Cardinals will take on the Ramona Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.

Whittier is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 80-48 win over Temecula Prep. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Cardinals have posted since December 6, 2024.

Whittier can attribute much of their success to Christopher Heape, who posted ten points along with seven steals and six assists, and Romo, who earned 17 points and seven rebounds. The matchup was Romo's fourth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noor Moustafa, who had ten points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Ramona beat Santa Paula 64-53 on Friday.

Ramona's win bumped their record up to 24-6. As for Whittier, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.

Whittier didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Ramona in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, but they still walked away with a 58-54 win. Will Whittier repeat their success, or does Ramona have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
